(SPRINTCUP MANIA I)

(SPRINTCUP MANIA II)

SPRINTCUP MANIA III

(SPRINTCUP MANIA IV)

Its is time for the second annual Sprint Cup Mania event. The all around event is actually made up of small events that run throughout the Nascar season as more of a sideshow than anything during a very long Nascar season. This years version once again begins with the esteemed Winston Rumble. 2011 winner Alan Maddock tries to win his second, while 2012 winner Tammy Trombley has been dropped to Bot status and will not have a chance to defend. This year all superspeedway races will be taken out of the events as well as the, almost as crap shoot, road races. The Tag Team Tournament will consist of the 32 league members. There will be an important change in the King and Queen Tournament however. This year their will be just a King Tourney, for all the males in the league, and a Queen Tourney for all the females in the league. The winner of each will be crowned King/Queen. There will also be a Duke and Duchess, losers bracket so to speak as well as a potential matchup between the loser of the King Finals and the winner of the 3rd place game to determine who is Prince 1 and who is Prince 2 in the royal hierarchy for 2014. That matchup happens if the two Princes defeated and lost to the same people of those in the final 4. The final 2 spots at the royal table will be the previous years King/Queen. If already taken, then by the Royal Rumble winner, and then by past royalty. All previous statements on setup from last years page are null and void, as a new future will be written. These royal members will still get special treatment in the S.C. Mania events.

This years Sprint Cup Mania will once again see a new addition, the Survivor Series. With 32 members There will be 8 Survivor Series teams (4 on a team), and the seeds will be determined by the average position of all 4 members at the start of the event. The lone exception will be for the team of the King, two Queens and former Duchess Kristen. These four members will automatically receive the #1 seed and face the team seeded #8.

As for the Survivor Series, I like the concept of the four man/woman teams, as I created in football, even a little more for Nascar with many more people. I took the word Survivor and deemed it appropriate for when it would take place. Now while I had thought of it and then shelved the idea because there was no room for it, it was that word Survivor that hit me. To just survive. I took out the super speedways and the road courses because they were crap shoots and I didn't want them involved in any of the events that I have grown to enjoy. And quite frankly, more than the league itself. While the playoffs are entertaining to follow for me, it's the Mania events that keep me really interested during the season. Something about watching my guys crash for the first 26 races of the season that just has taken the fun away for me. So what better fit for a Survivor Series than during those crap shoot races. Where it's not really about how well you can pick, it's about just surviving. So for Talladega, Sonoma, the 2nd Daytona & Watkins Glen, that will be the first 2 rounds. The 2nd Talladega will be used for the finals where the survivors of each winning team after the first 2 rounds will battle. There will be the 8 teams of 4 and they will be again be seeded by average position in the standings and face each other head to head. 1 vs. 8, 2 vs. 7, 3 vs. 6 and 4 vs. 5. Then the winner of 1 vs. 8 & 4 vs. 5 will face each other in the 2nd round, as will the winners of the 2 vs. 7 & 3 vs. 6 matchups.

Of course being what tracks they are at, it doesn't matter worth a damn. But each team of 4 that battles each other the worst score, or scores if on the same team, of the 8 will be eliminated. For eliminations, except for the last event of the round, a single person may only eliminate 2 people. In fact it could technically happen where all 4 of one team could be eliminated in the first race. After the final race of the first two rounds, the winning team may save 1 driver from their team if they are not the last finisher of those left, just to try and make sure there are at least 2 members of a team going into the next round. It may not be the case however if all others had been eliminated from a team during the first race of that particular round. After the 2nd race of each round, it must get down to 1 team as the winner. Could still be multiple drivers, but 1 team as the winner. So whoever is left of the 4 winning teams, will go head to head, remaining team vs. remaining team during the 2nd Talladega race. That is where the winner/winners will be crowned. And yes, this is during the chase. Only Mania event that will run into the chase. Bragging rights will be fierce come the Survivor Series.

Speaking of nascar drivers, the reason I started doing the single elimination tournaments were because one of the big websites had done it for the actual nascar guys a couple of years back. I loved it. Was entertaining. So that's why I started doing ours. In fact that was the catalyst for the start of Sprint Cup Mania. Well seeing as it would work out perfectly, when we start on our singles tournaments, I will do the same thing the big site had, and have the top 32 racers go head to head. That led me to think of doing the same thing with the tag team tournament. Yes, teaming up nascar drivers and having them do the same kind of tournament when we do our tournament. Seemed reasonable to enough that while at Richmond, the last race of the regular season, we would have the winners of those tournaments go head to head. Us vs. nascar stars.

KING & QUEEN OF THE SPRINT CUP

2013 King of the Sprint Cup Tournament

2013 King of the Sprint Cup Double Elimination for the Duke Crown

For the 2013 season, the King Tournament will see a sort of losers bracket for everyone to have a second chance at a spot at the Royal Table during the 2014 season.

The losers in each section of the King bracket will face each other with that winner facing the corresponding loser from the next round in the King tournament. During the Finals of the King tournament, the two left with face other with the winner being crowned King, and the driver defeated crowned Prince. Also the two losing members of the semi-finals will face off for the right to be crowned the 2nd Prince and have a 3-1 record for the tournament, and the loser there, while at 2-2 for the tournament, will face the winner of the losers bracket for the right to be crowned Duke.

2013 Queen of the Sprint Cup Double Elimination

For the 2013 season, the King and Queen tournaments have been split. And with only 6 ladies now, more when the idea came about to split, there had to be something different done still. So here comes the double elimination tournament. The first race will consist of the defending Queen seeded 1st, and the previous Queen 2nd. Then 3-6 will be determined by points positions. Going into the 2nd round, the two Queens will still get the 1 and 2 seeds, but 3-6 will be determined by the previous races results. If there are 2 undefeated ladies after round 2, they will face each other with the winner getting a bye in the next round if there are an uneven number of teams. In any other event that there are an uneven number of teams, the previous Queens would get a bye, or the highest finisher from the previous race. The finals will be single elimination however. During the semi-finals, all eliminated ladies will battle for the right to face the semi-final loser in a head to head matchup for the title of Duchess, with the 2 ladies in the finals battling to be crowned Queen in victorious, Princess if defeated. As for the Duke and Duchess, these two titles were handed out during a lesser bracket last year, and will be done so again in spirit this year.
